Alice M. Grubb, 84, of North Ironwood Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away of natural causes at 4:22 a.m. on Sunday, Aug.1, in her residence. Mrs. Grubb was born to the late Roy Eddy and Ada Leora (Remmington) Johnson on December 27, 1914, in Elkhart, Ind.

On July 24, 1937, in Wakarusa, Ind., she married Delas C. Grubb, who passed away on January 31, 1987. Alice was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughters, DeAnn Latson and Carol (Gerald) Buczkowski, both of South Bend, Ind.; four sisters, Dorothy Hamilton of Bristol, Ind., Isabell (Ivan) Simpson of Wickenburg, Ariz., Toka Canen of Elkhart, Ind., and Maxine (Hosea) Ross of Bristol; two brothers, Eldon (Betty Lou) Johnson and Floyd (Annie) Johnson, both of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Laura Harrier and James (Michelle) Latson, both of South Bend, Victoria (Joseph) Krol of Mill Creek, Ind., and Michael (Marilyn) Latson of LaPaz, Ind.; and by eleven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, in the University Area Chapel of the McGann Funeral Homes, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, with Rev. Wilson Shabaz, retired pastor, officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family has asked that memorial donations be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the American Cancer Society of St. Joseph County.
