OSCEOLA - Howard E. Grove, 76, of 56833 White St., died of natural causes at 6:50 p.m. Saturday in his home in Colon, Mich. Mr. Grove retired in 1981 from Wheelabrator-Frye Corp., Mishawaka, after 17 years of service. He was born Sept. 21, 1919, in Osceola. He is survived by a daughter, Melanie Luna of Osceola; two sons, Sam Galloway of Osceola and Jon H. Grove of Cold Springs, Ky.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Erma Aller of South Bend and Elaine Cowan of Deer River, Minn.; and a brother, Delmer ''Tate'' of Big Fork, Minn.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of USS Reid Destroyer Veterans Association, American Legion Post 308, Osceola Masonic Lodge, Blue Lodge, Mizpah Shrine and Shriners. He was an assistant scoutmaster for Troop 122.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Warner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Osceola Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, where Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Osceola Masonic Temple.
