Gerald C. Grosvenor, 89, residing on
S. 25th Street in South Bend, Ind. passed away at 5:35 a.m.
Monday, June 24, at the Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, South
Bend, of natural causes. Mr. Grosvenor retired in 1975, as the
owner/operator of several small businesses in South Bend.
Gerald was born on Feb. 25, 1907, in
Marshall County, Ind. to the late Willia C. and Artie (Hauck)
Grosvenor. He had lived in South Bend since 1926, coming from
Marshall County.
On Nov. 16, 1931 in Marshall County, he
married Marie Kelsey who survives. Also surviving are two
sons; William C. Grosvenor of Indianapolis, Ind. and Merl D.
Grosvenor of Battle Creek, Mich.; three granddaughters, one
grandson, one step-granddaughter, and five
step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four half
sisters; Jean Smith and Doris Guy, both of Warsaw,
Eleanor Young of Nappanee, and Dorothy Baker of
Elkhart. One grandson, Noel H. Grosvenor preceded him in death in
April of 1996. One sister, Fairy Hawley, also preceded him
in death in March of 1995.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday,
June 28, at the Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka
Ave., South Bend with the Rev. Merrill Hartman officiating.
Burial will be in Sand Ridge Cemetery, Bourbon, Ind. Friends may
call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, at the funeral
home.
