Brother Roderic “John” Grix CSC, 78, died early today in Holy Cross House, Notre Dame, after as illness. He was born Feb. 13, 1907 in Detroit. He entered the Congregation of Holy Cross as a postulant in 1927 and professed his vows in 1929. He professed his final vows in Sacred Heart Church at Notre Dame on July 2, 1932.  Survivors include a sister, Sister M. Florian SSJ. He was assigned from 1930 to 1942 at St. Joseph Farm, Granger, Ind. From 1942 to 1954 he was assigned to the University of Notre Dame Farm. From 1954 to 1959 he worked at Notre Dame and worked in maintenance for the Indiana Province from 1960 to 1983. He had resided at Holy Cross House since 1983.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Church, Notre Dame with burial in Holy Cross Community Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Moreau Seminary, where wake services will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
