Brother Nilus Grix CSC, 69, religious
supervisor at the St. Joseph Farm, Granger, died at 11:15 a.m.
today in the Dujarie House Infirmary on the Holy Cross Junior
College campus, after an illness of several weeks. He had been
associated with the St. Joseph and Notre Dame farms for 41 years.
He was born in Detroit on Feb. 26, 1905, and entered the Brothers
of Holy Cross at Watertown, Wis., on Jan. 16, 1923. He graduated
in 1931 from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelors
degree. Survivors include a brother, Brother Roderic CSC,
of Notre Dame; and a sister, Sister Florian SSJ, of
Nazareth, Mich.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday in the
Holy Cross Brothers Center. A celebrated mass will be in the
Chapel of St. Joseph at the center at 3:30 p.m. Monday, with
burial in St. Joseph Cemetery on the campus of Holy Cross Junior
College.
