Jack V. Grittani Jr., 44, of South Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind., unexpectedly passed away on Monday, Nov. 18, in his home. Jack was born on Jan. 28, 1958, in South Bend, Ind., as the son of Jack V. and Joan (Swartz) Grittani Sr. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Sr., on Dec. 25, 1999.

Jack is survived by his mother, Joan of South Bend; two sons, Jake Grittani-Mumm of Lakeville, Ind., and Jack "JD" Grittani of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Frances (Paul) Saros of Mishawaka; and by a niece, Jaci Saros, and a nephew, Paul "Bubba" Saros.

Jack worked for Lock, Joint & Tube until just a few years ago. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a huge Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. If there was a NASCAR race being televised, you could count on the fact that Jack would be watching from somewhere. He was a wonderful, loving father, brother, son and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, including those at Dave's Pub.

Friends may call today, Nov. 21, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
