SOUTH BEND - James R. "Jim" Grillo, 69, of
Dallas, TX, passed away on November 24th, 2007. He was born in
South Bend to Dr. Donald and Ursuline (McGuire) Grillo. He
graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1957 where he
was affectionately known as "Wimpy." Jim graduated from
Indiana State University and was a proud member of the Theta Chi
Fraternity. He also served in the Armed Forces during the Korean
War.
After his tour of duty Jim returned
stateside and married Jo Grillo of Bruceville, IN. Jim
established Belleville Pizza in the early 1970s, and continued to
serve the community for nearly 30 years before retiring to Dallas
in 2000 where he spent his time doing the things he loved
including restoring his 1977 Mustang Cobra, target shooting and
even piloting a small plane. Jim was a volunteer for six years
for the Life Teen Ministry at St. Monica Catholic Church in
Dallas where he will be sorely missed. Jim is survived by his
former wife, Jo; son, Jimmy of Brooklyn, NY; daughter, Beth
(Mark) Didion; grandson, Bryce of Dallas; brothers, Donald
(and the late Sandy) Grillo of Noblesville and Gene (and Carol)
