NORTH LIBERTY - Harold Griffiths, 92, formerly of North Liberty, passed away at 8:28 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, in LaPorte Hospital after an extended illness. He was a retired millwright and steel worker at Youngstown, Ohio. He was born November 16, 1917, in Scranton, PA. He was married in Scranton to Jane Evans on September 21, 1940. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2004. He is survived by a daughter, Donna (Raymond) Fraizer of South Bend; a sister, Eleanor Nickelson of Scranton; and a granddaughter, Heather Lynn Sheets of Fayetteville, N.C. Mr. Griffiths served with the CCC at White Sands N.M., was a member of Local 1462 of the United Steelworkers, and a member of Western Star Masonic Lodge #21 F&AM in Youngstown, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, in the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home in North Liberty, officiated by Tim Stewart, pastor of the North Liberty Church of Christ. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty.
