Richard Waldon Gregory

MISHAWAKA - Richard Waldon Gregory, 80, passed away in the
early morning hours of Thursday, May 15, 2008, in Holy Cross
Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend after an illness.
Richard was born on March 24, 1928, in Henshaw, Kentucky, as the
son of William Waldon and Maude Sue (Morris) Gregory. He
was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Edith Schoembaechler
and Margaret Lute; and five brothers, Morris, Gilbert,
Robert, William and Tony.
On June 4, 1949, in Valparaiso, IN he
married the former Joyce McDaniel. Surviving Dick are his
loving wife of almost 59 years, Joyce; three sons, Dick (Yvette)
of Jupiter, FL, Dan (LeAnn) of Elkhart and Matt (Nancy) of
Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Christopher (Christina) Gregory,
Jill (Mark) Wilson, Kimberly Gregory, Breeana (Ryan)
Wallick, Corey Gregory and Ciara Gregory; one
great-granddaughter, Ella Wilson; and two sisters, Betty Bogan
of Greenfield, IN and Gladys Schipper of Louisville, KY.
Dick came to Mishawaka in 1966 from Lansing, IL. He worked as a
Representative for Western Southern for 36 years before he
retired in 1987.
He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran
Church. Family and friends may visit on Sunday, May 18 from 2 to
4 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street Mishawaka. A
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 19 in
Christ the King Lutheran Church, South Bend with Rev. Steve
Schwier officiating. The family would like to give a Special
Thank You to Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center and the
2nd and 5th Floor staff at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center,
Mishawaka, for all of their care and support during this
difficult time. Memorial contributions may be made in Dick's name
to Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17195 Cleveland Rd., South
Bend, IN 46635.
