SOUTH BEND - Arlene Greenwood, 95, of South Bend, died on
Sunday, May 18, 2008, in her residence. She was born in Chicago,
IL, on March 16, 1913, to Mark D. and Emma (Werehane) Taylor,
who preceded her in death.
Arlene married Ernest F. Greenwood in South
Bend on July 4, 1933, who preceded her in death in 1989. Mrs.
Greenwood is survived by three daughters, Elsie (John) Everett
of Villa Park, CA, Sue (Craig) McDonald of LaPorte and
Deborah (William) Carnes of Elkhart; 16 grandchildren, 21
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was
preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Stein in
2000, Sara Ellison in 1996, and by a grandchild, Scott Everett
in 1988. She was a former member of Harris Prairie Church of
Christ for 50 years where she taught Sunday school, and was most
recently a member of Northway Church of Christ. Arlene was a
member of the D.A.R. for over 50 years, and the Eastern Star. She
enjoyed traveling.
Friends may visit with the family on
Saturday, May 24, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral
Chapel. Friends may also visit from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday prior
to services at 3 p.m., with Rev. Ed Erskin officiating. Burial
will follow at Harris Prairie Cemetery. Memorial contributions
may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
