Sister M. Alma Dolores (Virginia Monica Green), CSC, was born in Tooele, Utah, to Harry J. Green and Myrtle Florence Green. Sister is survived by her sister, Emmy Lou (Leslie) Mitchell, Redwood City, Calif., and nephews.
Sister taught at Good Shepherd School, Beverly Hills, CA, 1931, and St. Joseph's School, Boise, ID, 1934. She was then called to become active in the health field at Saint Agnes' Hospital and earned her certificate as a medical records librarian, 1943. Sister was then assigned in 1945 to be Superior and Administrator of St. Alphonsus Hospital, Boise, ID. While in this position, Sister Alma Dolores received her membership in the American College of Hospital Administrators, 1960. She was assigned to the business office of the General Offices in 1960 and then was elected to regional administration in 1969 as Regional Superior for the retired sisters. She returned to the hospital and health ministry in Pastoral Care as chaplain at Saint Agnes' Medical Center, Fresno, CA, and Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake City, UT.
In 1994, Sister elected to retire to Saint Mary's Convent, where she was active in community ministry and prayer until her death. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor Fund, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, in the Church of Loretto, where a wake services will be at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, in Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. The Kaniewski Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
