SOUTH BEND - Robert L. Green, 78, of South Bend, died Friday, August 22, 2008, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was born in Mishawaka on April 22, 1930, to Maurice and Lucille (Lemert) Green, who preceded him in death. Robert married Frances Bower of Mishawaka at Gospel Center in River Park on September 3, 1955. Frances preceded Robert on July 14, 2000. He is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Jerry) Mannell of Carmel and Karen (Ken) Marciniak of Rolling Prairie; two sons, Rodney (Debbie) Green of South Bend and Maurice (Mary) Green of South Bend; five grandchildren, Kelly Mannell, Abby Green, Kris Marciniak, Billy Green and Katelyn Marciniak. Among other survivors are a sister, Yuanita Battles of South Bend; and two sisters-in-law, Rae Green of Elkhart and Verna Green of Plymouth. Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Deak, and by two brothers, Eugene and Wayne Green. Mr. Green was a printer/pressman for many years at Tri County News and retired from Artcraft Printers. He was a member of Redeemer Missionary Church, Civil Defense and Boy Scout Troop #478. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Friends and family may visit with the family today, August 24th, in Bubb Funeral Chapel from 1 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday, with Rev. Jason Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Missionary Church, 2313 Solomon, South Bend, IN 46615.
