Aug. 22, 1922 - Aug. 24, 2010SOUTH BEND - Mr. Leslie B. Green Sr., 88, of South Bend, IN, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010. He was born August 22, 1922, to the union of Frank and Pearlina Green in Fayette, Mississippi (Wilkson County). On February 11, 1947, he was united in matrimony to Catalina Bantayan. To this union seven children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Green relocated to South Bend, IN, from Kingston, Mississippi, in 1964. Upon relocation, Mr. and Mrs. Green united with the St. John M.B. Church. For many years Mr. Green worked construction and was a self-employed truck driver. His hobbies: gardening, mechanic, truck driving, traveling, and spending time with family. He leaves to cherish his loving memories three sons, Tyrone Green Sr. (Bettye), Leslie Jr. (Jackie) and Frank (Rosemary), all of South Bend, IN; and a daughter, Martha Hawkins (Wayne) of Granger, IN; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a brother, Leo (Mary) Green of Natchez, Mississippi; five sisters, Eloise Jetter, of South Bend, Eveline O'Neal of South Bend and Earline (Lee) Harbor of South Bend, Betty Bassett (Willie) of Natchez, Mississippi, and Zeola Reed of Natchez, Mississippi. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Catalina B Green; two sons, Roger and Arnold Green; and one daughter, Mary Ann Green. Three brothers also preceded him in death, George, Grady and Nathaniel; and two sisters, Pearlina Anderson and Mary Jones. Services for Mr. Leslie B. Green Sr. will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010, in the Greater St. John MB Church, 101 N. Adams St., South Bend.
