MISHAWAKA - Richard H. Greene, 82, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away
at 9:00 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Morningside Nursing Home,
South Bend. He retired Lt. Colonel of the United States Air
Force, serving as Chaplain for 22 years. Mr. Greene was born on
October 19, 1927 in Maywood, NJ to Charles and Isabel (Heavey)
Greene. On August 16, 1991 in South Bend, IN he married
Marguerite A. Greene, who survives. Along with his wife,
Marguerite, he is survived by four stepdaughters, Theresa Marie
Taelman of Mishawaka, Marguerite Ann Samonie of Osceola, Erin
Kathleen Bickel of Wakarusa and Stephanie Lynn Schuster of
Milford; two step-sons, Thomas James Youngman of North Liberty
and Christopher Matthew Youngman of Thailand; ten grandchildren
and one great granddaughter. His brother, Charles and sister
Isabel preceded him in death. Mr. Greene was a graduate of Seton
Hall and earned his Master's Degree in Psychology from Ball
State. He was a down hill skier, bicycle rider and avid walker. A
private memorial service for his immediate family will be held at
a later date to honor his memory. Palmer Funeral Home and
Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with
