MISHAWAKA - Richard "Ric" Greene, 56, of Mishawaka,
passed away at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, February 17, 2008. Ric was born
on February 23, 1951, to the late Charles "Ray" and
Patricia R. (Hinton) Greene.
On December 27, 1975, in Granger, he married
Roberta "Bobbi" Stull, who still survives. Ric is
survived by his loving wife, Bobbi; two daughters, Tanya (Doug)
Ditmars of Goshen and Melissa Greene of Mishawaka; two
granddaughters, whom he loved dearly, Brianna and Alexis Ditmars
(and he could not wait for their Sunday visits!) He is also
survived by two sisters, Karen (Joe) Sili and Kathy (Brian)
Phillips, both of South Bend; two brothers, Stephen Greene of
Mishawaka and John Greene of Lenore, NC. He was a favorite uncle
to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
parents and by a sister, Becky Greene.
Ric graduated from Marian High School, class
of 1969. He was a very well-known coach in fast-pitch softball,
which he was devoted to for the majority of his life. He had
worked for Bendix for over 15 years; he also worked for several
years as a supervisor in the bearing industry, and was currently
employed at General Sheet Metal, South Bend. He had a huge heart
and ALWAYS put others before himself, and was instrumental in
supporting many nieces and nephews and friends to obtain a better
life.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:00
to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008, in the Chapel Hill
Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services
will follow at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may
be made to the family, who would like to thank all the family and
friends for their love and support during this difficult time.
