Mrs. Elsie L. Greene

December 13, 1913 – August 18, 1978

Mrs. Elsie L. Greene, 64, of 506 N. Lafayette, died at 4:45am today at Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.  She was formerly employed as manager of the layaway department at Robertson’s Department Store.

She was born on December 13, 1913, in Switzerland Co IN, and moved to South Bend from Muncie in 1949.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Betty A Forster and Mrs. Jean Chrzanowski, both of South Bend; a son, Donald L. of Okinawa; 12 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Eloise Sink of Mishawaka.  Mrs. Greene was a volunteer worker for REAL Services; a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to9pm Sunday at the Welsheimer Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Health Fund or to the Council for Retarded Children.
