SOUTH BEND - Bertha "Pat" Green went to meet her heavenly father on September 8, 2008, at 4:06 p.m. in her residence. She follows her mother, Polly Shaw; father, Ivan; four sisters, Helen, Ethel, Barbara and Rosetta; and three brothers, Harold, Wallace and Billy. She will rejoice at being reunited with the love of her life, Melvin "Jerry" Green. Surviving are her two sons, Larry (Kay) and Danny Green, and her daughter, Vicki (Scott) Springer. She will be greatly missed by her 12 grandchildren and her many beloved great-grandchildren. She has two remaining sisters, Donna (Walt) Martin and Bonnie Lewis. Pat wrote the following: A letter from Heaven To All My Family and Friends Jesus took me home today, He said my work down here was done. Sorry that I had to leave my family and my friends, Jesus has a plan for me, I'll try to do my best. I really haven't died I just moved to a different address.

Funeral services for Pat will be at noon Thursday, September 11, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main, Mishawaka, where visitation will also be on Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
