SOUTH BEND - Arthur Frederick Grayson,
73, of Wellington Street, died at 9:22 a.m. Friday in Memorial
Hospital. Mr. Grayson retired from Century Center as an
attendant. He also worked for Alford's Mortuary for 26 years,
Drewrys for 20 years and retired from C.E. Lee Paints. He was
born March 2, 1923, in South Bend.
In 1948, in South Bend, he married Ollie Mae
Weatherspoon. She survives with a daughter, Kathleen Lowery
of South Bend; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two
sisters, Irma Dishroom of Chicago and Mary Jackson of
Indianapolis; and two brothers, George D. II and Dr. Dale O.,
both of South Bend. He was a member of St. Peters Lodge FM &
N and a past trustee, treasurer and Sunday school teacher for
Olivet AME Church. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the
church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call
from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the mortuary. Memorial contributions
may be made to the church scholarship fund.
