SOUTH BEND - Marie Alice Gray, 92, of
Napoleon Boulevard, died at 4 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Care
and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Gray retired in 1962 as a clerk
in the jewelry department at Robertson's Department Store after
20 years of service. She was born Dec. 24, 1902, in Wabash, Ind.,
and lived in this area since 1927, coming from Sioux City, Iowa.
On May 21, 1927, in South Bend, as Marie
Alice Clark, she married Webster H. Gray. He died May 5,
1995. Surviving are a son, Gerald H. of Cambria, Calif.; two
great-grandsons; two sisters, Genetta Chadwick of Houston
and Hazel LaBelle of Pinellas Park, Fla.; and two
brothers, Frank Clark of South Bend and Leslie Clark of Cambria.
She was a member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church and of the
YWCA, where she served on the board and was a past president.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in
Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial
contributions may be made to the church.
SOUTH BEND - Services for Marie Alice
Gray, 92, of Napoleon Boulevard, who died at 4 a.m. Saturday
in Holy Cross Care & Rehabilitation Center, will be at 11
a.m. Wednesday in Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. Entombment will
be in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m.
Tuesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., and an
hour before services Wednesday in the church. Survivors include
two grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
