Edward D. Gray
Edward D. Gray, 99, formerly of 1114 Duey, died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday in the
Northwood Nursing Home after a one year illness. He was a former construction
worker. Born on Nov. 26, 1880, in Kosciusko, Miss., he had lived in South Bend
for 34 years after coming from Blythville, Ark. He is survived by five
daughters, Miss Alma Gray and Mrs. Velma Williams, both of Benton Harbor, Mrs.
Valie Booker of Chicago, Mrs. Lue Ella Mason of Kenneth, Mo., and Mrs. Hattie
Miller of South Bend; three sons Oren and Otis Gray of Benton Harbor, and Sgt.
Eddie Gray, with the US Air Force, stationed in Dayton, Ohio; we grandchildren,
and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
Rev. Henry L. Giden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 5 t0 9 p.m. Friday in Clark's
Funeral Chapel. He was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist church and
its male chorus.
