Sergej Grauaug

Sergej Grauaug, 90, of N. Le Blvd. de la Paix (Park Jefferson Apartments), died Tuesday morning, Jan. 22, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Sergej retired from Raco, J.C. Penney and Hudsons.

He was born Sept. 23, 1911, in Harkov, Russia, to Michael and Nina Grauaug, who preceded him in death. He had lived in the South Bend, Ind., area since 1950. In 1930, in Budapest, Hungary, he married Tatiana Drucker, who died on July 23, 1996.

He is survived by a daughter, Irene Montana of South Bend; a son, Ivan (Ona) Grauaug of South Bend; a grandson and four great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Irene Stetinin of Milford, Conn.

Sergej was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Russian Orthodox Church, Goshen, Ind., and was a member of the Indiana Sheriffs Association.

There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Connecticut.

Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society.
