MISHAWAKA - Emil Grass, 85, went to be with the Lord on
Saturday, November 8th. He was born in Elkhart to the late Joseph
and Blanche (Coplen) Grass. He is survived by Jenettie (Shantz)
Grass, his wife of 61 years. Also surviving are his daughter,
Connie (Tim) Grove, and daughter-in-law, Marty (Dennis) Mast;
two granddaughters, Stacey (Aaron) Schavey and Anna Grass;
seven grandsons, Chris (Sue) Grove, Michael (Cecilia) Grove,
Zachary Grass, Quinn Grass, Dean Grass, Caleb (Amanda) Mast and
Ethan Mast; and two great-grandsons, Henry and Samuel Schavey. He
is also survived by two brothers, Wendel (Arlene) Grass and
Kermit (Janice) Grass. Preceding him in death were two sons,
Steven and David; and brothers, Donald, Estel and Kenneth. Emil
was an Air Force veteran, and was a longtime tool and die
designer in the Michiana area. Emil was blessed with spending 61
years with the love of his life, Jenettie. The love and
commitment they have shared over the years have been a continuing
example to all those who knew them. Emil took great joy in
spending time with his children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren - there was nothing better. He also took
great pleasure in traveling, gardening (his green thumb was the
envy of many), and also reading. The family wishes to thank all
those at Hospice for their care of and concern for Emil and his
family.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the
Bubb Funeral Home at 3910 N. Main St, Mishawaka, IN, from 5 to 8
p.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12,
in the funeral home. Pastor Earl Smith of Granger Missionary
Church will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House in
Indianapolis or to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care at
111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
