WALKERTON - John S. Grannan, 68, of Walkerton, IN, passed away March 3, 2008, in Memorial Hospital. Born December 28, 1939, in Washington, IN, he was the son of Donald E. and Margaret Louise (Sinnott) Grannan, who preceded him in death along with a brother, Donald R. Grannan, in 1987.

John is survived by two sisters, Mary Jane (Jack) Rosenberg of LaPorte, IN, and Nancy (Bob) Egierski of Granger, IN; four nieces, Yvonne Kirts of Elkhart, Jackie and Lori Swaim of Indianapolis, and Jennifer Grannan of South Bend; and two nephews, Robert J. Egierski of Granger and Donald P. Grannan of Osceola. John was an all-around nice guy. He loved to camp at any state park, and was a member of the American Legion.

Visitation will be held today (Thursday) in the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, SR 23, from 6 to 8 p.m., where the Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday in St. Pius X Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m., where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Pius X Building Fund.
