THREE RIVERS - Roy J. Gramenz Jr., 78, passed away in his
residence on Thursday, May 15, 2008. Roy was born on February 21,
1930, in South Bend, to the late Roy L. and Eleanor (Klosowski)
Gramenz Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law,
John Woltman; nephew, David Woltman; and his companion of
20 years, Eathel T. Sullivan. Surviving Roy are his
sister, Marjorie Woltman of Chicago Heights, IL; daughters,
Elinor (Marty) Tyl of South Bend, Sheila Gramenz of
Toledo, OH, and Wendy (Russ) Gentry of Osceola, IN; only
grandchild, his beloved "rugrat," Stephanie (Zachary)
Flagle of Cary, NC; nieces, Susie and Sandy; and his best friend,
Evelyn Masso of Three Rivers, MI. Roy worked at AM
General, retiring in 1988. He served in the United States Army
during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of the VFW in
Marcellus, Michigan, and supported many veteran causes. During
his retirement, he enjoyed his trailer at the lake, hunting,
fishing, and his pets.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 20, 2008,
from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME,
824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A Rosary will be prayed at
3:30 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, May
21, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at
St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be
made to the VFW Post 4054, M40 S. M40, Marcellus, MI 49067.
