George H. Gramenz

MISHAWAKA – George H. Gramenz, 70, of 224 W. Grove Street, died at 11:15 as.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Hospital, one hour after he was admitted. He was taken to the hospital in the city ambulance after becoming ill is a barber shop on North Main. He was born in Osco, Ill. on April 15, 1901 and had lived in South Bend and Mishawaka for 40 years coming from Fort Dodge, Iowa.

 

He married Bernice Coleman in South Bend on March 5, 1938. She survives in addition to three sons, James M., Dennis L, and Wesley G. of Mishawaka; a daughter, Mrs. Herman Anton of Schneider, Ind., two brothers, Roy of South Bend and Julius of Fort Dodge; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Baumgartner and Mrs. Matt Baumgartner of La Verne, Iowa and Mrs. Howard Beck of Mrmlo Parf, Calif., and 13 grandchildren.

 

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Kenneth Mangelsdorf, poastor os St. Peter Lutheran Church, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

 

Mr. Gramenz retired in 1965 after 23 years of employment at the Studebaker Corp. He was a member of the Fathers Auxiliary of Post 360, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Assoc. of St. Joseph County.
