SOUTH BEND - Helen A. Grabarek, 91, of Spring Hill, FL,
formerly of South Bend, passed away on Friday, June 20, in her
residence. Helen was born on July 5, 1916, in South Bend, to the
late Anthony and Anna (Wojcik) Wantuch.
On October 22, 1938, she married Casimir
Grabarek, who preceded her in death on June 17, 1993. She was
also preceded in death by her three brothers, Frank, Thaddeus and
Aloysius, and by her sister, Genevieve Molnar. She is
survived by her daughter, Patricia (Ervin) Lodyga; three
grandchildren, Lynn Disbrow, Lisa Lodyga-Uhl and
Lee Lodyga; and six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Nicole, Jack,
Max, Jameson and Elliott. She was a member of the Polish Women's
Domestic Cub and the Rosary Society of St. Adalbert Catholic
Church. Helen enjoyed water aerobics, yard work and playing
cards.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m.
Thursday, June 26, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower
Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, June
27, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St.
Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made
to the donor's choice.
