Irma E. Gosztola, 91, of West 7th
Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 1:25
p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, in her home. She was born on July 16,
1907, in South Bend, Ind., to the late Joseph and Irma (Heckli)
Horvath.
In 1931, in South Bend, Irma married Emery
B. Gosztola, who preceded her in death on June 22, 1990. She is
survived by a son, E. James (Marlene) Gosztola of Mishawaka; two
grandsons, Tim (Donna) and Tom (Denise) Gosztola, both of
Mishawaka; three great-grandchildren, Christine, Kevin and Taylor
Gosztola, all of Mishawaka; two sisters, Elsie Chikar and
Violet Wirth, both of South Bend; and by her caregiver and
special friend, Joyce Scott of Mishawaka. Irma had been
the co-owner and operator of the former 7th Street Laundromat in
Mishawaka from 1946 until 1973. She had been a member of Eagles
Aerie 2083 in Mishawaka.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, in the funeral
home, with Fr. William Sullivan officiating. Interment will
follow in Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made
to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
