Raymond M. Gorski (March 28, 1916-June 19, 1994)

SOUTH BEND - Raymond M. Gorski, 78, of 24th Street, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday in his home of natural causes. Mr. Gorski retired from the South Bend Fire Department and from the Water Works. He was born March 28, 1916, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Sept. 2, 1939, in South Bend, he married Stella Orlowski. She died Sept. 11, 1987. On March 21, 1992, in South Bend, he married Clara Consley. She survives with two sons, Paul T. of Greenville, S.C., and Bernard J. of Granger; a stepdaughter, Joyce Holmes of Arlington, Texas; a stepson, Steven Papoi of South Bend; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Gertrude Wettergren of South Bend. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council 553, Father J.A. Nieuwland Assembly 4th Degree, Moose Lodge 58, M.R. Falcons Nest 4, River Park Fishermen's Club, and Polish American Business and Professional Men's Association.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Matthew Cathedral. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, where Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council 553 will say a rosary at 3 p.m. and a parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
