Esther A. Goralczyk, 76, formerly of South Jackson Street, died at 1:52 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, in Regency Place. She was born on Aug. 5, 1923, in Detroit, Mich., and had lived in this area since 1933. Mrs. Goralczyk retired in 1979 from Inwoods and was an employee of the former Enro Shirt Factory.

 

On Aug. 29, 1942, in South Bend, Ind., as Esther Goralski, she married Frank "Joe" Goralczyk, who preceded her in death on May 5, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Antoinette (Kaczmarek) Goralski; a daughter, Darlene Sroda, who died on April 2, 1982; and by two brothers, Eugene Goralski, who died on July 19, 1984, and Richard Goralski, who died on June 16, 1971. She is survived by a son, Kenneth (Suellen) Goralczyk of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Sheila (Bill) Nelson, Craig (Tanna) Sroda, Colleen (Jesus) Renteria, all of South Bend, Bradley (Karen) Sroda of DePere, Wis., Kevin (Lynn) Goralczyk of Bremen, Ind., Jeffery (Angela) Goralczyk of Syracuse, Ind., and Patrick Goralczyk of Utica, Mich.; 14 great-grandchildren, Naomi, Tiara, Madison, Conner and Spencer Nelson, Estephen and Miquel Renteria, Abigail, Allison and Emily Sroda, and Nicholas, Alexandra, Megan and Elizabeth Goralczyk; three sisters-in-law, Theresa Goralski, Regina Weisel and Rachel Goralczyk, all of South Bend; a brother-in-law, Jerome (Mardell) Goralczyk of South Bend; an aunt, Verna Mazall of South Bend; and by eight nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Goralczyk was a member of Polish National Alliance Lodge #83, American Legion Auxiliary Post #357, St. Anne's Society, the Rosary Sodality and St. Casimir Senior Citizens.

 

Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, May 12, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 2:30 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, in St. Casimir Catholic Church, with entombment to follow in the Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
