SOUTH BEND - MoEtta L. Goodling, 87, of South Bend, passed away
Friday morning, April 3rd, in Healthwin Specialized Care. She was
born August 26, 1921, in Benton Harbor, MI, to the late Charles
and Dolly (Anders) Kronewitter. Also preceding her in death were
a daughter, Lizzie Anders Gill, six sisters and seven brothers.
On August 24, 1940, in Crown Point, IN, she married Gordon C.
Goodling, who died in 1971. Surviving are daughters, Connie
Worthen (Chuck) of South Bend, Kaye Hostetler of Boulder,
Colorado, and Geri Warner of Victoria, IL; her son, Patrick G.
Goodling of Plymouth; 20 grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Terry and Illah Gillen of
Mishawaka; and a brother, Michael Kronewitter (Leatrice) of South
Bend. Mrs. Goodling was a graduate of South Bend Central High
School in 1939 and had a beauty shop in South Bend for many
years. She was also the head of housekeeping at the Days Inn,
Fort Wayne, and worked for the American Red Cross in Fort Wayne.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. There will be a
memorial service held at a later date. As per her wishes,
cremation will take place at Welsheimer Crematory. In lieu of
flowers, please make contributions to the American
