MISHAWAKA James D. Goodall, 83, quietly left us on
August 23, 2008, after a long struggle with infarct dementia. He
was born in Elkhart, IN, to Edwin and Luella (Dreves)
Goodall. Jim is survived by his wife, Lois (Lenon); his
daughter, Carol Goodall-Yoder; and his sister, Sharon Anglemyer
of Goshen. Lois and Jim celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary
last July. Jim graduated from Riley High School in June 1943. He
then went into the Navy and served as a radioman on a motor
torpedo boat (PT) in World War II. He served in both the European
and the Pacific Theaters. Jim was employed by the South Bend
Community School Corporation for 32 years until his retirement in
1987. He enjoyed bowling, biking, golf and fishing. In 2005 the
Goodalls sold their place in Minnesota to spend summers in their
home in Mishawaka. Last spring they sold their winter place in
Texas. They planned to winter in Mishawaka permanently. Jim was a
member of the Elks and the American Legion.
