Herbert A. Goltz

Herbert A. Goltz, 81, of Highland
Shores Drive, Granger, Ind., died early Friday afternoon, June
11, 1999, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Goltz was
born on May 3, 1918, in Chicago, Illinois, to Joseph Y. and Lena
(Fischer) Goltz, who preceded him in death. Also preceding
him is his brother, Sheldon Goltz in 1982.
On December 15, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois,
he married the former Ruth F. Chilow, who survives in
Granger, Ind. Also surviving are his three daughters, Terry S.
and (Jeffrey) Zelvy of Mishawaka, Ind., Lynn A. and
(Maury) Tasman of Louisville, Kentucky, and Pamela J. and
(Daniel) Bottom of Philomath, Oregon. Mr. Goltz is also
survived by eight grandchildren; one brother, Charles and
(Annette) Goltz of Skokie, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
Coming from Chicago, Illinois, in 1946, Mr.
Goltz made his home in the South Bend/Granger area where he was
president and owner and operator of Cutting Tools, Inc. He was a
member of Temple Beth-El of South Bend, Ind., past chairman of
the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, was a member of
Banibarith Men's Group, and was an officer in the United States
Navy in World War II.
Funeral services for Mr. Goltz will be 11:30
a.m. today, June 13, 1999, in Temple Beth-El, with burial to
follow in the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery in Mishawaka, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Goltz to
Temple Beth-El or to Hospice of Saint Joseph County. The Forest
