MISHAWAKA - Mildred E. Gollatz, 88,
formerly of Mishawaka, Ind., died after an extended illness at
7:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, in Elkhart General Hospital. She
was born in Peru, Ind., on Dec. 2, 1909, and had lived in this
area most of her life. Mildred was a homemaker and belonged to
the Eastern Star, the Mishawaka Garden Club, the Mishawaka
Women's Club, and was a member of United Methodist Women and the
First United Methodist Church of Mishawaka.
As Mildred E. Rufe, she married Starr
Wentworth on Dec. 30, 1927. He died on March 29, 1986. She
then married Richard Gollatz in January 1990. He preceded her in
death in October 1995. Mildred was also preceded in death by her
sister, Audrey Browall; and by her brother, Lazerne Rufe.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Shirley
(James) Blue of Granger, Ind.; her son, Dennis (Sherrie)
Wentworth of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren, Lisa (Craig) Sychowski,
Dawn (Scott) Troyer, Kimberly (Jim) Schultz and
Bradley Wentworth; and by six great-grandchildren, Stephanie and
Kimberly Warren, Kameron and Tonya Wentworth, and Angela
and Jessica Moore.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today in
the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, where funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, with Rev. Don
Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
