Joseph Goldner, 81, of Rockne Drive,
South Bend, Ind., died at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, in Saint
Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka, Ind. Joseph was born in
South Bend on Dec. 7, 1919, to Isadore and Rose (Fromm)
Goldner. His parents preceded him in death, along with his
sister, Mollie Hodgetts, who died in 1962.
On Feb. 19, 1950, in South Bend, he married
the former Marie H. Lipschitz, who survives. Also
surviving is their daughter, Ruth Ann (Paul) Weinberg of Highland
Park, Ill.; a son, Alan Irvin (Karyn) Goldner of Pleasanton,
Calif.; two grandchildren, David and Emma; two sisters, Blanche Rosenberg
of Mishawaka and Sarah (Abe) Pomeranz of South Bend; and
several nieces and nephews.
Joseph worked for the Studebaker Corporation
for over 17 years, and then he and his wife, Marie, owned and
operated Alan's Fishing Tackle Company from 1962 to 1984. He was
a member of Sinai Synagogue and the YMCA. He will be dearly
missed by his family and friends. Contributions may be made in
memory of Mr. Goldner to Sinai Synagogue or to the charity of
donor's choice.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on
Friday, March 2, in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka. Burial
will follow services, with Rabbi Michael Friedland officiating.
There will be no visitation.

is handling arrangements.
