Mary C. Golba, 93, formerly of Varsity Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, Ind. Mary was born on Aug. 7, 1905, in Wabash County, Ind., to the late Charles and Frances (Shetzley) Stoops.

On Oct. 5, 1927 she married Frank I. Golba He preceded her in death on June 29, 1988. She is survived by a daughter, Janet (Kent) Keller of Hastings, Mich.; a son, J. Charles (Anita) Golba of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Margot) and Gregory Golba, both of Charlotte, N.C., Mary Elizabeth (Robert) Gray of Erie, Pa., Denise (Jamie) Dolniak of South Bend, Kurt (Chris) Keller of Los Angeles, Calif., Katie (David) Lynn of Estes Park, Colo., and Edith (Jerry) Keller-Twig of Hastings; and by 10 great grandchildren.

Mary retired in 1967 after 28 years of service with the Wheelabrator-Frye Corporation, Mishawaka, where she had been the head of the bookkeeping and billing departments. She was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church and the Julianna Club.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 30, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a Rosary at 7:45 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, in St. Anthony de Padua Church, with Fr. Barry England officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
