SOUTH BEND - Brother Arthur Julian Gohl,
CSC, 64, of Columba Hall, Congregation of Holy Cross, died
Thursday in the residence. Brother Gohl made temporary profession
of vows on Jan. 26, 1967, and was assigned to James Hall
Scholasticate at Notre Dame, where he lived while taking classes.
He took final vows on Jan. 23, 1971. He was assigned to teach at
St. Charles Boys Home in Milwaukee in August 1967; he remained
there until November 1990. He then was transferred to Columba
Hall to be responsible for maintenance of the house.
He was born Nov. 17, 1929, in Mora, Minn.
Surviving are three sisters, Adeline Beltz of Bagley,
Minn., Azela Griese of Roseville, Minn., and Avis Calkins
of St. Paul, Minn.; and three brothers, Alois Gohl and Albin
Gohl, both of Pablo, Mont., and Adrian Gohl of Lola, Mont.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the
Holy Cross Brothers' Center. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in
St. Joseph Cemetery, Holy Cross Brothers' Center. Friends may
call beginning at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the center. Hickey Funeral
Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, is in charge of arrangements.
