George L. Goepfrich, 1604 E. Bader
Ave., died at 6:45 a.m. today i n the Dar-A-Lin Nursing Home,
1024 N. Notre dame Ave., after an extended illness. He was
born in South Bend Jan. 11, 1890, and married Theresa Wallisch
May 9, 1908, in South Bend. Mr. Goepfrich was superintendent of
the cabinet department of the former Singer plant here. Surviving
are his widow; a daughter, Lucy Ann, at home; a son, George A.,
of New Britain, Conn.; two grandchildren; three brothers, Frank
of Three Rivers [ Michigan], and Joseph and Rudy, both of South
Bend; and two sisters, Mrs Mary Resnik of South Bend, and
Mrs. William Stelzer of Blooomfield Hills, Mich. Friends
may call after 7 p.m. today in the Hickey Funeral Home. Mr.
Goepfrich was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St.
Joseph's Church with Rev. Thomas J. O'Donnell, C.S.C., of the
University of Notre Dame, officiating. Burial will be in Highland
Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. in the
funeral home.
