South Bend Tribune, Obituary; July 29, 1952

Anthony Goepfrich of 1829 East Fox street, died at 12:40 p.m. Monday in his residence after six months' illness. He was captain of plant defense for the Studebaker corporation and was head of that department in world war II. He has been employed by the corporation 30 years. Born in South Bend March 31, 1903, he lived here all his life. He was married in 1927 at Notre Dame to Ruth Schmetzer, who survives. He leaves also a daughter, Geraldine, at home; three brothers, George, Joseph and Rudolph, all of South Bend, and two sisters, Mrs. A.G. Resnik, South Bend, and Mrs. William Stelzer, Summit, N.J. Friends may call in the Nemeth funeral home after 7 p.m. today until the funeral at 9 a.m. Thursday in Holy Cross Catholic church. Burial will be in Highland Cenetery.
