11, 1925 - May 15, 2010GRANGER - Yvonne L. Goens, 84, of Granger, passed away at 6:26 a.m. Saturday, May 15th, in Memorial Hospital. Yvonne was born September 11, 1925, in Tipton, IN, to the late Calvin and Lovie (Barnes) Suits. On October 13, 1946, in Alexandria, Yvonne married Jack Goens, her loving husband of 63 years, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Van Damme of South Bend; a son, David (Ann) Goens of South Bend; six grandchildren, Michelle Goens, Melanie (Tommy) Gibson, Jack David (Angie) Goens, Samantha Goens, Kathryn Van Damme and Mary Van Damme; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty (John) Girting of Phoenix, AZ, Rosalie Litwin of Phoenix and Beverly (Norman) Weaver of Knoxville, TN. Yvonne was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Order of Eastern Star in Alexandria, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend.
