Arlene J. Gnivecki (June 21, 1924 - Dec. 8, 2000)

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Arlene June Gnivecki, 76, of West Seventh Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Friday evening, Dec. 8, in her residence surrounded by her family

 

Arlene was born on June 21, 1924, in Buchanan, Mich., to Altis and Frances (Matesick) Stoner, both of whom preceded her in death. Arlene was also preceded in death by a brother, Duane Stoner; and by a sister, Phyllis Roose

 

On Feb. 14, 1953, in Mishawaka, Arlene married Edward L. Gnivecki. Arlene was a wonderful homemaker, devoted to her family

 

Arlene is survived by her husband, Edward, and their daughter, Kathleen Sue (Mark) Goepfrich of South Bend, Ind.; a son, Patrick Allen (Candy) Gnivecki of Mishawaka; two grandchildren, Kevin and Kelly Gnivecki; and by four sisters and one brother, Maxine (Dory) Covert of Goshen, Ind., Laura Miller of New Carlisle, Ind., Janet Culp of Goshen, Lois (Bill) Scott of Goshen and Devoe (Sue) Stoner, also of Goshen

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Mishawaka, where Arlene was a member. Officiating the service will be Rev. Kenneth Mangelsdorf. Burial is to follow at the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Ind

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.

MISHAWAKA — Arlene June Gnivecki, 76, of West Seventh Street, died Friday in her home of natural causes. Survivors include her husband, Edward L.; a daughter, Kathleen Goepfrich of South Bend; a son, Patrick of Mishawaka; four sisters, Maxine Covert, Janet Culp and Lois Scott, all of Goshen, and Laura Miller of New Carlisle; and a brother, Devoe Stoner of Goshen. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North
