Irvin Gloyeski, 78, of U.S. 20, South
Bend, Ind., died at 11:32 a.m. on Friday, August 7, in Memorial
Hospital. He was born on Oct. 5, 1919, in South Bend, and lived
in this area most of his life. He was a former employee of
Interstate Brands and retired from the South Bend Police
Department after 20 years of service.
He was married on June 28, 1945, in Denver,
Colo., to Gertrude Staszewski, who survives. He is also
survived by two daughters, Mary (Paul) Barnett of Boca
Raton, Fla., and Carol (Patrick) Fagan of Newburgh, Ind.;
three sons, David (Carol) Gloyeski of Bon Aqua, Tenn., Michael
(Anita) Gloyeski of North Manchester, Ind. and Dale Gloyeski of
Foothills, Calif.; four grandchildren, Patrick, Sean and Erin
Fagan of Newburgh and Karen McRae of North Carolina; and
by one sister, Loretta (Gerald) Elrod of Spring Hill, Fla.
Mr. Gloyeski was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond, who
died in 1995.
Mr. Gloyeski was a member of the Fraternal
Order of Police 155, and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He
was also a pilot in World War II.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.
today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road,
where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m.
on Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be
in St. Joseph Cemetery.
