Lorraine
I. Gliszczynski, 79, of North Brookfield Street in South Bend IN,
passed away on Wednesday, June 11, in Healthwin Specialized Care
of South Bend.
She
was born on February 25, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Peter
and Joanna (Mackowski) Switalski. Lorraine retired from the
University of Notre Dame in the housekeeping department. On
August 6, 1960, as Lorraine I. Switalski, she married Stanley
Gliszczynski, who preceded her in death on June 5, 1981. She
was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joanna Kashmer and
Genevieve Innis; two brothers, Aloysius and Robert Switalski; and
by a niece, Patricia Bykowski.
She
is survived by a son, James (Carol) Gliszczynski of South Bend,
nieces, Evelyn (Harry) Bolin, Dorothy (George) Bolin, Harriet
(Norbert) Luczkowski, Joan (Carl) Zwierzynski and Rite (Richard)
Lukowski; and by a nephew, Richard (Lynn) Switalski.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8pm Sunday, June 15, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, where a parish Rosary will be held at 4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, June 16, in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Gliszczynski was a member of Corpus Christi Church.
