Lillian C. Gleissner, age 94, of Decatur, Michigan, and formerly of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2004, in St. Paul's Retirement Community in South Bend. She had just recently moved to St. Paul's.
Lillian was born September 11, 1910, in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Fedelis and Agnes Barth. On June 17, 1944, she married Thomas P. Gleissner. They made their home in Mishawaka, and upon retirement, they moved to Finch Lake near Decatur. Lillian was employed for 36 years at Uniroyal retiring in 1968. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur, and while living in Mishawaka, was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, in 1990; and also by her sisters, Sophie Roggeman and Gertrude Kann.
Her surviving family includes nieces and nephews, Georgann Gierkey, Virginia Dylejko, Jeanne Dolde, Jim Gleissner, George Gleissner, Judy Green, John Gleissner, Philip Gleissner, Charles Gleissner, Jean Gleissner, Janice Harward, Robert Gleissner, Marianne Ziegenhorn, Paul Gleissner, Joseph Gleissner, Carol Ann Nix, Richard Nix, Diane Torok and Al Lindahl. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Nix.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday in St. Monica Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffery Largent officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Visitation will be from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Monday in Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 West Third Street, Mishawaka, where the Rosary will be prayed at 10:15 a.m.
