Joseph F. Gleissner

Aug. 3, 1885 – Nov. 16, 1950

Mishawaka - Joseph F. Gleissner, aged 65, of 822 Lincoln Way West, an employee of the city water and electric department since May 2, 1932, died suddenly at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in his home. Mr. Gleissner had been in ill health since last May when he suffered an attack but had been able to continue his work.

 

Mr. Gleissner was born Aug. 3, 1885 in Milwaukee, Wis., and had lived in Mishawaka for the last 30 years.

 

He married Mrs. Mary Miller in St. Joseph Catholic Church in 1923. Surviving are his widow; three step-children, Valsimshouser of Los Angeles, Calif; Mrs. Jack Ohnemus of Cleveland, O., and Mrs. Henry Roehl, of Bellingham, Wash.; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later.

 

Mr. Gleissner was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Church. He had been as active member of the players club of St. Joseph Church for many years.

Funeral services for Joseph F. Gleissner, aged 65, of 822 Lincoln Way West, who died Thursday in his home, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Curt A. Suelzer, pastor, will chant the requiem mass and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

 

Friends may call at the Hollis Funeral Home, South Bend, until the time of services.

 

Pallbearers will be Fred J. Hums, George, John and Fred Gleissner, and Allison and Fred Lindahl.

 

Mr. Gleissner was an employee of the city water and electric department, a member of Mishawaka council No. 1878, Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Church.
