SOUTH BEND - Edna Powell Glass, 83, of Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, formerly of 2430 Bertrand St., died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Glass was born June 21, 1911, in Lake Village, Ark., and lived in South Bend since 1978. I

n 1978, in South Bend, as Edna Powell, she married married Willie Glass. He preceded her in death. She is survived by four daughters, Delores Joan Powell and Kynda Glass, both of South Bend, Barbara N. Powell of Houston and Willie Marie Kincade of Eudora, Ark.; four sons, Henry W. Powell III of Houston and Donald Glass, Allen Glass and George Glass, all of Los Angeles; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was a member the missionary society and deaconess board, both of Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, and was past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star Prince Hall Affiliate.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call one hour before services Monday in the church. Clark's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
