Sister Mary Britto CSC, died in Saint Mary’s Convent at 12:20 a.m. today after an extended illness. She was born Anna Gitzhofer in Germany in 1875. She entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1903 and received her habit in 1904. She made her profession of final vows in 1909. Prior to her retirement to St. Mary’s in 1957 she had spent her entire community life at Holy Cross Convent at the University of Notre Dame.

The requiem mass will be at 6 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto and burial will be in the Community Cemetery at St. Mary’s at 1:30 p.m.  Friends may call in the convent parlor.
