Dayonna Leva Gills, 22, cherished mother, daughter and sister, who resided on Dunham Street, South Bend, Ind., departed this life on Monday, Aug. 6, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Gills was born to Wydell Gills and Brenda Donegan on Feb. 20, 1979, in Kalamazoo, Mich. Dayonna attended Adams High School and was a member of Faith Christian Center Church.

The bereaved family includes a son, Jalen Deshawn Gills of South Bend; her mother, Brenda Donegan of Chicago, Ill.; her father, Wydell Gills (Priscilla Allen) of South Bend; paternal grandmother, Minnie B. Gills of Chicago; godmother, Sheila Taylor of South Bend; sisters, Carmesha Taylor of Memphis, Tenn., and Monica Taylor of Gary, Ind.; brothers, Melvin, Isaac, William Taylor and Bryan Allen, all of South Bend; aunts, Zeller, Hilda and Rhonda, all of Chicago; along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Gills will be held at 12 noon on Friday, Aug. 10, in Faith Christian Center Church, with visitation one hour before services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
