Ocealess Mailey Gilliam, 36, formerly
of South Bend, Ind., died on Thursday, Dec. 10, in Bloomington,
Minn. She was born on Feb. 21, 1962, in Chicago, Ill., to Doris
and Bether Mailey. The family relocated to South Bend
where Ocealess attended the South Bend community schools and
graduated from LaSalle High School in 1981.
She and her husband Rodney moved to
Minnesota approximately seven years ago. There she was employed
as a nurse's assistant, a job that, to her, was very fulfilling
as it allowed her to attend to and care for others. Ocealess was
very family-oriented, and was often referred to as having a big
heart. In fact, that's what set her apart...her warm, caring
ways. Ocealess leaves to cherish her many fond memories her
husband Rodney; parents, Doris and Bether Mailey of Federal Way,
Wash.; three sisters, Avis Mailey and Sherry Taylor of
Federal Way, Wash., and Zandra Mailey of Kent, Wash.; three
brothers, Dillard Mailey of Auburn, Wash., John Mailey of
Indianapolis, Ind., and Keith Mailey of South Bend; along with a
host of other relatives and friends.
