DIES AT AGE 85

163 Descendants
At Death
Mrs. Hattie F. Gill, 85, formerly of
Mishawaka, was an only child but upon her death this morning in the Calvert
Nursing Home, South Bend, she left 163 descendants. Mrs. Gill was the mothers
of six sons and three daughters and she also is survived by 45 grandchildren;
85 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gill's sons are Paul E., of South Bend; Noble,
of Fort Myers, Fla.; Alvin S., of Michigan City, and Lonnie, Charles and
Edward, of Mishawaka. The three daughters are Mr.s Rene Crume, of Elkhart; Mrs.
Gene Hale, of Mishawaka and Mrs. Rolland Meyer, of Granger.
Mrs. Gill had resided in Mishawaka for 59 years
until she became ill and went to live in the nursing home. she was born in
Bremen, Jan. 25, 1882, and came to Mishawaka from that city. She resided on
Michigan Ave. here until two years ago. As Hattie F. Kauffman she married James
E. Gill, in Bremen in 1900 and he died Feb . 12, 1057. Friends may call in the
Bubb Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. today.
GILL-Funeral service for Mrs. Hattie F.
Gill, 85, who died Thursday morning in the Calvert Nursing Home, South Bend
will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel. Officiating will
be Rev. Roy G. Hamman D. D., pastor of the First Baptist Church and burial will
be in the Harries Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Gill, who leaves 163
descendants will be her grandsons.
