Pearlie Bee Giden, 55, dear mother,
grandmother, daughter and sister, who resided on South Bend
Avenue, South Bend, Ind., passed away following a lengthy illness
at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, in Saint Joseph's Regional
Medical Center. On Aug. 26, 1944, in Blytheville, Ark., she was
born to the union of Pearleen Giden and John Thomas.
Pearlie lived in South Bend most of her life, and attended South
Bend Central High School. She leaves to cherish her memory three
sons, Donald Thomas, Keith Giden and Larry Washington; 16
grandchildren, Asia V. Thomas, Adrian R. Thomas, Astor M. Thomas,
Keith D. Giden, Jasmine W. Giden, Valerie L. Giden, Amber L.
Giden, Justin M. Gray, Marchelle Wicker, Marcellus
Wicker and Martel Wicker, Dontay, Tyana, Teni, Dayonac and Packie
Washington; a great-grandchild, Aleah N. Giden; her mother,
Pearleen Lipsey; four sisters, Shirley Thomas, Lisa
Lipsey, Theresa Hughes and Gwen Lipsey; and seven
brothers, Larry Thomas, Frankie Lipsey, Alvin Lipsey, Elliott
Lipsey, John Lipsey, Lenneth Lipsey and Anthony Lipsey, all of
South Bend; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on
Friday, Oct. 8, in River of Life Family Church, 608 South St.
Joseph Street. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Alford's Mortuary,
to which arrangements have been entrusted.
